1) Optimize Your Title Tags

The headline you choose for your link can be one of your biggest assets. If done right, a well-written title tag will help people find your content through search engines. It’s also what shows up at the top of your page when someone shares it on Facebook or Twitter, so it’s vital to nail it. Though you want to get as much information as possible into your title, don’t let yourself cram too many keywords—you want to leave enough room for context without sacrificing readability.

2) Add LSI Keywords To Your Title Tags

One way you can to get a quick boost in traffic from search engines is to make sure your page titles contain keywords people would likely search for. If your business sells classic furniture, for example, a title tag of Classic Style Furniture by So-and-So Company will work wonders for your SEO efforts. The key here is long-tail keywords—terms that are less common but more specific—as opposed to one or two keyword phrases like furniture. This isn't easy at first, but with practice you'll develop an eye for spotting opportunities to incorporate long-tail keywords into your title tags (and other places). You don't have to be perfect at it right away.

3) Add LSI Keywords To The First Paragraph of the Post

LSI keywords are single keywords that encompass a cluster of more generic search terms. The idea is to use LSI keywords to create a post that is targeted to highly specific search queries but includes broader terms too so you can appear for general searches. Adding LSI keywords to your title and first paragraph increases your chances of ranking for these highly targeted phrases without putting all your eggs in one basket. In our example, we would want at least one LSI keyword like increase or traffic or website

4) Create a Custom Visual for Every Piece of Content

There are tons of ways to optimize your content, and one of them is through customized graphics. That’s because you can use a unique image that showcases your expertise and draws people in—plus, it will make you stand out among all those other sites with default images. Sites like Unsplash and Pixabay offer free photos that you can use for just about any project, but if you want something more professional, there are plenty of paid options as well. 5) Offer an Incentive for Sharing

There are a few tricks you can use to give readers a reason to share your content. Offering something for free, like an ebook or gift card, is one popular tactic. Other websites will offer cash rewards for referring people to them. Make sure that you ask readers before using any of these methods and try not to make them feel cornered into sharing your content. If possible, try pairing an incentive with doing something that supports their interests. For example, if you’re trying to promote your local business through social media, then offering an exclusive coupon for customers who like your Facebook page is more likely to be successful than just giving away a gift card.

6) Use Click To Tweet Widgets

One of your biggest levers for getting more traffic is getting people to share your content on social media. Adding a click to tweet widget—like ShareThis does—is an easy way to make that happen. If you're going to be doing promotion anyway, you might as well get something out of it. The click-to-tweet widget makes it easy for your audience members to share your content, which means more traffic and readers are likely to engage with what you've written—and perhaps even take action based on your advice.

7) Add an Author Box to Your Website or Blog

An author box is a useful tool to include on your site, and adding one will help people recognize you and connect with you online. It's important that it includes a recent photo, an email address and a link to your social media accounts for easy access. Your author box should be found both on your homepage and on each post page (or at least most of them). Be sure to add as much information as possible, including how long you've been blogging, what type of audience you serve and how many articles you've published.

8) Ask Readers to Share the Post Before They Leave Comments

The best way to get more people to read your content is to ask them to share it. The trick is doing it subtly. If you add a box for your readers to leave comments and share on social media before they submit their post, you’ll double your readership within a month. You could even add buttons that say things like please tweet or share on Facebook or both.
